Responsible for the development and implementation of Crowley's
sustainability strategy and engagement program at the enterprise
level, including monitoring new and emerging regulations, serving
as subject matter expert and project lead where required, and
executing strategies to ensure internal and external stakeholders
are engaged in Crowley's sustainability ambitions.GENERAL
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Serves as the Corporate subject matter expert on sustainability
issues including but not limited to Crowley's strategy, goal
setting, reporting, transparency, materiality, and engagement.
- Ensures compliance with Environmental, Social, and Governance
(ESG) related laws, regulations, and standards.
- Identifies, analyzes, and evaluates significant regulatory
initiatives related to ESG.
- Recommends courses of action, implements solutions, identifies
relevant training programs, reduces regulatory risk exposure, and
writes appropriate management systems, policies, and
procedures.
- Collaborates with corporate communications to represent the
company in industry associations, regulatory workgroups, or other
committees to identify and address issues relevant to Crowley's ESG
ambitions.
- Develops and maintains relationships with local, state,
federal, and international regulators, as well as other key
stakeholders to identify opportunities to accelerate Crowley's ESG
ambitions and identify other partnership opportunities to support
business development initiatives.
- Builds capacity and bench depth on issues of customer
engagement, forward-looking regulation monitoring, and
sustainability initiatives to help the corporation move beyond
compliance-driven ESG approaches.PEOPLE MANAGER:
YQualifications:EDUCATION: Bachelor's degree in occupational safety
and health, emergency management, risk management, sustainability,
public administration/affairs, communications, business
administration, or a related field; or a combination of post-high
school and equal experience may be substituted for
education.EXPERIENCE: 8 - 10 years of relevant experience in
progressive technical management experience with sustainability
programs, preferably in maritime and transportation or a related
field, and 5+ years of supervisory experience.TECHNICAL
PROFICIENCY: Proficient with Microsoft Office products, including
Teams, Excel, Outlook, and Word. Must understand and have
experience interpreting basic financial statements (balance sheet,
P&L, etc.). Must excel as a facilitator and
communicator.COMPETENCIES: Must exemplify Crowley's core values of
Integrity, Sustainability, and Drive. Ability to communicate
effectively verbally and in writing to diverse audiences. Ability
to establish and maintain effective working relationships. Ability
to prioritize, organize, and perform multiple work assignments
simultaneously while meeting assigned deadlines. Ability to work
independently supporting team members from various disciplines.
Ability to effectively manage projects that may vary in nature and
scope. Ability to identify complex problems and review related
information to develop, evaluate, and implement solutions. Ability
to provide guidance for assistance and coaching with processes and
procedures. Ability to function effectively as part of a team.
Ability to prepare clear and concise reports, policies, procedures,
correspondence, and other written materials. Must have the ability
to understand the regulatory environment that impacts the entire
organization and drive changes needed to comply. Knowledge of the
most influential industry and agency advocacy groups in
sustainability, marine transportation, logistics, and alternative
energy sectors. Must have an in-depth understanding of ESG
principles and grasp of technologies impacting the transport and
logistics sectors. Knowledge of sustainability reporting including
standards such as TCFD, SASB, GRI, and marine transportation
emission calculations using Tank-to-Wheel and Well-to-Wheel
methodologies.JOB SCOPE: Position impacts multiple business
units/segments.WORKING CONDITIONS: Works both inside an office
environment and also outside in conditions of both high and low
temperatures. May be exposed to odors, dust, dirt, mechanical
hazards, high noise levels, and potentially dangerous equipment.
Must be able to crouch and stoop to get into areas with restricted
headroom and be able to climb ladders. May require extended use of
a computer keyboard and viewing of a computer monitor and the
