Job Summary: Ryder is hiring a Permanent Full Time Maintenance Repair Mechanic to support its Truck Fleet in Jacksonville, FL, with a competitive salary and benefits package.

Ryder is seeking a skilled Maintenance Repair Mechanic to join its team in Jacksonville, FL. As a key member of the maintenance team, you will be responsible for performing routine maintenance and repairs on heavy-duty vehicles, ensuring they are safe and roadworthy.

Key Responsibilities:

• 
  
• Perform routine maintenance and repairs on heavy-duty vehicles, including oil changes, brake and tire work, and basic diagnostics and repairs.
  
• Diagnose complex mechanical and electronic problems using diagnostic computer tools.
  
• Complete complex and detailed mechanical inspections and repairs with minimal supervision.
  
• Replace defective components as instructed.
  
• Work unsupervised on most tasks and interact with customers/drivers to properly determine the nature of complaints.
  
• Utilize key functions of Shop Management System and electronic documentation available.
  
• Work in accordance with all federal and corporate compliance guidelines (i.e., safety, DOT, MOT).
  
• Act as mentor for Tech 1 and Tech 2 levels.
  
• Demonstrate the ability to access and use internal and external maintenance documents.
  
• Perform other support duties as required to support operations.
  
  
  Requirements:
  
  
  • 
    
  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
    
  • Vocational or Technical Certification Post Secondary degree or Technical Certifications, preferred.
    
  • Basic tools, required.
    
  • Demonstrated aptitude and applied experience in mechanical repair of automotive gas or diesel engines.
    
  • Three (3) years or more relevant work experience, preferred.
    
  • Valid Commercial Driver License (CDL) CLASS A, preferred.
    
  • All other certification as required by location, required.
