Description

The Calibration Technician is responsible for performing a variety of work functions related to equipment calibration and maintenance of the equipment calibration system. Incumbent will develop written calibration procedures, schedule calibration activities (internal and external), perform equipment calibration and repair, ensure proper documentation of calibrations results, and maintain the equipment calibration database.

Key Responsibilities

  • Coordinates internal and external (vendor) calibration of equipment.
  • Develops, establishes, and maintains written calibration procedures.
  • Performs equipment calibration and repairs according to approved written procedures.
  • Maintains paper-based and electronic calibration records.
  • Works with cross-functional department personnel to support quality and business objectives.
  • Establishes and maintains calibration laboratory to meet 5S requirements and supports ongoing continuous improvement efforts.
  • Coordinates, monitors, and tracks statuses of calibrated equipment inventories, as assigned.
  • Coordinates calibrated equipment final dispositions with cross-departmental and/or outside sources.
  • Data entry for calibration certifications and data, review of calibration records for completeness and accuracy, filing, maintenance and archiving of calibration records.
  • Trains employees on calibrated equipment controls, database operation, or other job-related systems.
  • Coordinates and disseminates monthly and quarterly Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) associated with Exactech's calibration process and system.
  • Know and apply Exactech's Quality Management System (QMS) as well as appropriate Federal and International standards (i.e. ISO 13485, ISO 17025, NIST, etc.). Skills, Knowledge and Experience

    Education:
    • Associate's Degree from an accredited institution required; Bachelor's Degree preferred.
    • In lieu of degree, at least 2 years related calibration experience in the following metrology disciplines: electronics / electrical, pressure, mass, dimensional or temperature or equivalent combination of education and experience Experience:
      • Must be able to work flexible hours; including possible rotating schedules that may include early morning or evening hours, holidays and weekends. Overtime may be required and may be mandatory at times.
      • 2-year minimum experience as a calibration technician is preferred.
      • Calibration Technician Certification (CCT) and/or industry Technical Certification is preferred. Functional/Technical Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Required:
        • Experience with various calibration devices, strongly preferred
        • Working knowledge of computer skills (Word, Excel, etc.)
        • Strong verbal and written communication skills
